OK, I know that I could have just asked you, Erin, directly but you are so busy I was hoping to avoid bothering you, so I'm not in trouble, right?
So, I have done a revision to one of my stories and would like to erase the old one and download the new on in it's place.
I think I can just get in there and highlight the old story, press "Delete" and copy and past the new one in, right?

Yes, you can do that, Gwen
It's one of the reasons BC is designed the way it is. You don't need any help from staff to upload an edited story.
Or you can upload it as a new story which will get it fresh time on the front page, just make sure you mark it somewhere so that people don't ask me why it's back on the front. :)

What about comments?
Am I correct in thinking that there is no way to attach comments from the old version to the new version if it is posted as a new story? Because I may be doing much the same thing somewhere along the line and I'd like to see a little front page time for the revised chapters before posting the all-new chapters. But I'd hate to lose the previous comments. The revised chapters would be mainly correcting continuity errors and some editing, but no major plot changes. Nothing that would really warrant all-new versions. But being in a bookish format it would be a definite reader requirement that they be familiar with the earlier posted material. Just trying to get a handle on what to plan on doing.

How to connect to old comments
If you post a revised story as a new post, you can include a link to the comments on the old version at the bottom of the story. Just go to the old story's teaser box on your author page, over over the link to the comments, use a right-click to copy the link and paste it into the bottom of your new posting.
