So, I think that I might redo some of my stories and resubmit them. OK, so I know how to post them, but I am not sure how to get rid of the old one. Do I just highlight the whole business and then press delete, or is there a better way?

Old Story
Gwen; Just add the word Revise to the new story and leave the old one there for history or ask Erin to remove it after you have the new one in place. A Friend! Richard

Replace the old story with the new one
I'm pretty sure you should be able to do an "edit" on the old story and replace it. Then all the comments from the old story shouldn't be lost.

You can copy the new version from your word processor, then go to the 'old' version, highlight it, and paste the new version in its place.
I've done this a number of times for authors when reformatting a poorly formatted story here at BCTS for the author.
