At about 615 this morning I dislocated my knee, and unlike the usual when this happens, it stayed out for several minutes, leaving me in enough pain to have to call my supervisor for help. I spent the last 45 minutes of my shift having to move very, very slowly and carefully, doing light work as I went.
Hopefully, this is a one-off, and not a sign I'm going to get in further trouble with it ...

You should get a knee brace
I've had this happen too. If you are prone to having your knee go out, you should probably wear a brace. It won't keep you from having problems, but it will reinforce your knee so that a dislocation will be pulled back in more easily. It would also let your knee feel a little more stable.

Also, don't go with a knee brace, go with a stabilizer (it's the kind that had the metal shafts on the side) the reason for this is that a knee brace will only keep everything tight on itself, but a stabilizer actually takes the weight off the knee joint and redistributes the pressure to the quads and the calf muscles which are capable of handling a heavier load.
