Well, tomorrow morning I have an interview at a grocery store. The big question is, do I go in honest? Or do I keep my trans status to myself until I'm hired? I wish I knew what to do.

I think Jiminy Cricket said it best?
...and always let your conscience be your guide? I know you'll make the right decision, dear, but I'll pray for wisdom and guidance none the less.
Dio vi benedica tutti

will they be able to tell,
will they be able to tell, if there are anti-discrimation laws for transgender where u live. and they tell your hired and then they fire you when they find out u could theoretically sue

Who's going to the interview?
Usually, when selling something, one does not tell the prospect all the things that are wrong with the product. This does not mean that you misrepresent the product. It is expected that the good, strong points will be mentioned.
Questions should always be answered honestly.
After that, go with your conscience.
Our prayers are with you,

One step at a time kid!
Get the job first then take things easy and sound out the other staff. If most of them are women the only issue might be the lavatories but let the women get used to you first. Get to socialise with them if you dare and see how they might react to your being camp and/or effeminate.
That's the 'cowards way' but it might eventually be the most successful way. Remember a woman has to be six times better than a man to get treated fairly and they manage that. A TS/TV has to be six times better than a woman, yet some even manage that.
However, first things first.
Get the bloody job first!!!
Good luck kid!

Growing old disgracefully.
Maybe I've come upon this rather late
There comes a time in everybody's life when you just have to ignore what others might think. Who knows; you reveal all and they immediately think 'Jerry Springer'.
Being trans is just the way you were born. Would you tell them if you had a false leg? No.
If they ask, answer honestly. Don't volunteer information and DON'T apologise for a birth anomaly.
