Oh for some less changeable weather.
Well or looks like this weeks plans are a bit up in the air, the wrong weather on the wrong days!
Monday was down for a writing day and i did spend most of the day at the kb although i got less written than i'd hoped. Oh well, at least i got half a chapter wroted.
The forecast for Tuesday was a bit mixed, with luck i'd stay dry and calmer conditions suggested a more relaxed ride, a variation of my regular Clevedon ride. Ha, think again Maddy! I was about an hour in when the first wet struck, ten minutes of mizzle, not enough to cape up but then it got a bit heavier so i donned said garment, a few miles on and it was off again - you tend to cook if its remotely warm! I tried out a 'new' bit of bike path going into Clevedon, it won't feature regularly as its a bit lumpy but its good to know its useable.
I got through my lunch stop dry, there was even a hint of sunshine but a few spots of wet suggested rain was coming so i donned the race cape again before starting the return. I headed through the Gordano valley to reach the Avonmouth bridge, intermittant drizzle validating my jacket decision. Having decided to go the 'long' way back to base via Filton (where Concorde was built), i debated taking the garment off on the long climb up the A38, i'm glad i didn't as the damp started again at the top and in fact got quite heavy once or twice. It was dry back at the house but i was quite wet inside and outside of the jacket, thats the problem with waterproof, especially in humid conditions!
Another 103km banked - August has turned out to be the most intense riding month of the year so far!
Today, well i needed to get a bit of shopping and given its a bright day, i headed up to Kingswood, a walk of @ 3.5km each way. I had hoped to finish that chapter off today but i must admit to getting a bit distracted and trying to force things never ends well!
The rest of the week is looking a bit damp at times, tomorrows ride could be delayed, wet or warm - i'll have to decide in the morning. If its delayed, the Sunday update could be late.
That's it for now, back Sunday,
Tschuss,
