so, I got a flu shot and COVID booster yesterday and spent the whole time babbling about all the stressful stuff going on in my life.

The lady giving me the shots deserves a medal for putting up with me.

Not unusual

I'd think that she gets that quite a bit. Many people are nervous about getting shots and tend to talk a lot as a result. And when you don't really know the person, you tend to babble.

Not to take anything away from how well she put up with you. The fact that you're not unusual makes her even more commendable. She goes in day in and day out and does it so often that it's common place to her. It takes a special person to do that.

I'm with you ...

This Meat Plague (covid) still has our (social) lives sufficiently scrambled, that I have often thanked my warfarin-clinic doc for tolerating and returning my banter.

I'm a slow learner ... it took years for my first Wife to sorta train me as to whether she just wanted to talk, or wanted my problem "solving" input ... sigh. Finally, she just started 'labeling' it: "just gotta ramble" or "any ideas here?".

I used to think

I used to think that problem solving in a discussion was male attribute, but my wife has taken up the habit of offering solutions when no request was given. I on the other hand have decided that if they want help, they need to ask directly.

Wonder if that's a hormonal thing. My wife is postmenopausal, so her estrogen level have bottomed out, while I'm on HRT and my testosterone levels are way down and estrogen is high.
