a health update: most of my flu symptoms have ended except I have a runny nose, and its hard to complain about that when I have felt so bad the last couple of days.

I have also started working on a new story, which has started out being something more appropriate to Halloween than now, which has me thinking once more that I am not the creator of my stories, they just arrive, and my only job is to be a good delivery girl and pass them on.

Anyway, that's my update for now..

I have that feeling too. The idea arrives and it is all I can do to get it down into a file. But then the grind of turning the idea into a story takes for-freaking-ever. My muse does not do the hard work.

Looking forward to reading your new story.

I think that your muse and mine must either be related or graduated from the same muse academy. I get an idea for a story, sit down and start typing. The characters take on a life of their own and the story runs its course until the muse lets me write "finis" or leaves me high and dry because I tried to make the story go where I wanted it to, Then the story sits on my hard drive until I get the urge to revisit it. Sometimes my muse will take over again and sometimes I simply struggle to make something out of.

If it's the latter, after few years, I may be able to add a thousand words or so and then I have to let it lay for an interminable amount of time. With a little luck, I may be able to finish it some time in the next 10 years. If not... well I have one that allowed me to add 2400 words recently that I started when my granddaughter was a babe in arms. She just celebrated her 23 birthday last month.
