Its the 6.05 special!
Well that's the time as I start this missive here in Brizzleland.
So, apart from wind strength and direction, we continue to 'enjoy' dry, warm and sunny weather as we go into a fourth week of Corona shutdown here in the UK. I hope that everyone around the globe is okay - for myself, I seem to be having a return of my hayfever set off atm by tree pollen. And guess what, hayfever has me sneezing and sniffling like Covid 19 would - difference is I don't have the temperature etc of the virus, just red eyes (hiding behind my massy and eyeliner!).
This week has been unusually okay for me, on Monday I went for a run, no extra injuries and starting to feel a bit more comfortable - perhaps that's the slightly better running shoes! Then, after picking the wrong time to shop again, I actually got a few more words of Trixie down. It's not going as quickly as I'd like but I do know where its going and the follow on tale is taking shape in my head although that may be delayed as Gaby needs some attention!
Then yesterday it was another 2 wheeled expedition, another loop up through Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds just hitting 110km in a silly quick four hours. Okay, its not race speed, nor am I racing but it represents a good level of fitness for the Spreewald ride this Saturday - but damn, that's cancelled and I won't be in Germany this weekend. I suppose its nice to know that my fitness level is in the right ball park though, can I maintain things until a resumption of 'normal' life and riding? The further up the fitness tree I am, the better my ability to cope with any downtime and a higher fitness level going into the winter months in theory at least, means less work to get back in form after the quiet season.
Today my exercise has been a 12km hike to my nearest (I think) big Sainsbury's - well I needed the exercise and I needed knickers - oh you may giggle at the back, but with clothing, shoe and pretty much every other non food shop closed, the big supermarkets are the only bricks and mortar chance to buy underwear etc Yes you can buy stuff on the net but not always what you want and you take a chance on sizing unless you have a brand sussed for that.
There is Gaby today of course, Time for a break takes our heroine in a slightly happier direction than recent episodes!
I think that's a wrap, or at least a summer cardigan,
take care and i'll be back at the weekend (but not from Germany)

Fitting it in
With the supermarket raid this morning (know what you mean about the clothes, half the wardrobe shelves are filled from there) and the builder's visit, there was just enough time and energy left for the usual short ride today. Good though; warm, dry, light winds and sunshine :)

I Know Whst You Mean...
...about allergies bringing on symptoms. (At least you're outside. I seem to get them even sheltering-in-place with doors and windows closed. No fever, though. And nasal congestion/phlegm isn't considered a symptom of this.)
The one that's getting to me, though, is that whenever I'm reading a news story about the pandemic, I start coughing. (When this started, it was literally every time. Now that it's just about all one can read in the news sections, it's usually only around twice a session.)
