And to top it off I'm feeling more than a bit isolated and down, depression catches me like that sometimes.

Absence of the familiar and being powerless to do much about, well anything - going out for a ride or walk only seems to lift the spirits for the endurance of the activity then its back to the self flagellation (metaphorically speaking). But less of this navel gazing, time to move on to lighter stuff.

Lets start with yesterdays ride, a proper doozy! So I mentioned last time that it was bright and sunny, the weather repeated on Monday if even colder but yesterday's forecast was different, early fog lifting to a sunny afternoon. Not so bad I hear you say.

Except that it turns out that the temperature was minus c when I set off, so after risking the bike track for a bit I returned to main-er roads to avoid any black ice. I was headed inland, past Bath (it is Barth not Baath), the temperature, instead of climbing was dropping though, by Melksham the first signs of frost were gathering on my gloves! And it only got colder as I looped past Devizes, visibility sometimes down to 50m and now the ice was forming on not just my gloves but jacket, glasses, bike - brrrrr!

When I reached my café stop the rime was extensive, boy was I glad of the relative warmth of the tea stop. I hung the stop out a bit to defrost better then set off for the 50km back, finally the sun started to push through the murk and whilst it was still cold, by the time I returned to Bath it was under a blue sky. I must admit to another tea stop before getting back - well I thought I deserved it. It might have only been 110km but the average temperature was all of -2c for the nearly six hours I was out.

Lets move on to reading matter. The new Gaby chapter for today is Bestest Friends, just another day in the life of Bond junior.

I've also posted a brand new standalone short story, Simon Says... which I hope you'll enjoy.

And finally just an update, Amazon still haven't released the paperback version of Girls, Girls, Girl?
, apparently hard copy readers will be confused by the title but not Kindle readers - go figure.

Anyhow, that's it for today so Tschussie,
Mads
