Had a weird dream last night that might make a good story. In the dream two ex soldiers go to a hotel bar to meet a third former soldier who had transitioned to female. The reason for the reunion was some supernatural evil they had survived as soldiers had returned, and they wanted to fight it together.

In the dream, I was the transitioned ex soldier, and at one point I and the wives of the other two went upstairs to the room I was staying in and I did a little performance for them showing off the most feminine items in my wardrobe as a way to keep our minds off of what we were about to face.

I really think it could be a good story, but as I know nothing about the military, I'm not sure I could write it.

Anybody want to take a crack at it?

Why not try it

Dorothy, you may surprise yourself, by writing this story. The lack of knowledge hasn't stopped many writers from composing stories, they're clueless about. If you beta read it here, am sure that the ex-military members will offer help and suggestions to correct any mistakes made. Just my nickel worth, since the penny isn't circulated in Canada, anymore.

Perfection is, always, one step beyond, where my feet are.

Interesting.

Dorothy, that looks like a good solid start to an interesting story.

go for it

I don't think a military background has much relevance for this story. I presume this is post military for all, and dealing with a transitioned mate makes it new territory for all. The military carryover would be mostly the brotherhood of having shared the responsibility of looking out for each other's backs. This is similar to the bonding you have with your transgender sisters, so you have experience.

It wouldn't be too hard to

It wouldn't be too hard to "fake" a bit of the jargon as there are a lot of sites out there that can describe ranks, speech and duties of members of the services
Don't let that be An issue and if need be, make up your own nation and military terms
