Well, a day that was supposed to be a triumph for me quickly turned into a near disaster, with me ending up struggling with suicidal thoughts.
I went down to the Canadian government office with my name change document and got the change done, but unfortunately, they dont deal with taxes, and told me I will have to contact Revenue Canada myself.
Then I went to the bank that has my car loan to give them my change of name, and went into my purse for the document ... only to discover it was missing.
I drove as fast as I could back to the government office, struggling to keep myself from totally losing it, and luckily when it fell out of my purse in the parking lot, someone turned it in, slightly run over.
So it could have been worse, but I am still dealing with the emotional stuff, and I could really use some positive vibes.

I don't know if this is exactly positive
but I think I would prefer to look forward to dealing with Revenue Canada than the Infernal Revenue Service. Barring the Harper years I have mostly found Canada to be an awesome place to live in. (My apologies to those that feel otherwise, but unlike most of my life I've been VERY happy this year that I don't live in the States.)
Truthfully, outside of the the fact that you're feeling really REALLY down today it sounds like you've had an awesomely good day. That's AWESOME that you have the name change. Even if you hadn't recovered the document it probably would have only been a few days to get a replacement document. So, yes, this really is an awesomely good milestone in your life.
