I have been given an opportunity to participate in a writer's "bootcamp" this weekend. Even if I doubt very much I could make a living as an author, I want to at least try this bootcamp and see what happens.
Among other things, I am very nervous about what to wear. They said "business casual", but I dont really know what that means for a woman.
hugs and encouragement appreciated.

Business Casual
Nice blouse and a skirt, slacks or even jeans if well kept?

Have fun.
If the boot camp is in commuting distance you will at least get a change to meet other writers in the area. Do some networking. Find out what writers groups are in the area. (People in a writers group will critique and edit each others work, among other things. Very useful.) Good luck. And have fun.
It's been years since I went to a writer's boot camp
I just remember that I learned how to field strip a Remington typewriter and crawl under a deadline while live rounds whizzed overhead; And got yelled at a lot by this mean guy who was always calling us maggots and insulting our mothers. But I did learn they importance of "Leave no manuscript behind."
I hear they're a lot nicer these days, have fun!

sounds like you combined 2 different events.
Going through military bootcamp, and then going through a writers bootcamp.
