I couldn't relate.
Being far end of the spectrum TS (the end where you transition or you die) I don't want to hang out with "Trans women" I want to be female and only female and blend back into society and become what society calls "Normal". I don't want to be accepted for being TG. I want to disappear into being a woman.
So I have no idea. I mean Trans-women covers the whole spectrum from uncomfortable with to crippled by gender issues. It covers from non-gendered to absolutely female. how could a motto possible cover that...

Sorority Motto
Per Aspera ad Agora
Through Hardship, To the Stores
Bob's motto
"We are all made of stardust."
= Give everyone the benefit of the doubt because certainty is a fragile thing that can be shattered by one overlooked fact.
i like that idea, Erin!
Especially in Latin:
" Omnes stardust fecit . "
Latin stardust
My Latin is poor but I think "stardust" would be something like "pulvis ab astris". :) Pulvis means dust in the sense of powder, I think there is another word for dust in the sense of dirt. Terrene? A little help here? :)
Online translator says: "Omnes stella pulvis sumus."
Hugs,
Erin

that's what I get for trusting google translate
oh well. the idea works, anyway.
Thanks for the suggestion. I hope you like the story!
Omnis pulvis stellarum sumus.
Omnis pulvis stellarum sumus.
I think stardust = stars' dust, so I use the genitive plural.
Now, since sororities use 'Ellenic letters, does anyone know the classical 'Ellenic reading?
Maybe...
είμαστε σκόνη των άστρων
"We are dust of stars"
Epsilon Sigma Alpha?
My Greek is worse than my Latin. :)

An nescis, mi fili, quantilla prudentia mundus regatur?
"Do you not know, my son, with how little wisdom the world is governed?"
Lord High Chancellor of Sweden Count Axel Oxenstierna in a letter to his son. The words were intended to encourage his son, a delegate to the negotiations that would lead to the Peace of Westphalia, who worried about his ability to hold his own amidst experienced and eminent statesmen and diplomats.
While not specificly apt for transgendered I have found it applicable generally.

I'm a softy but I have always
I'm a softy but I have always loved "be true to yourself"
For a motto it translates to "verum ut tibi" and given the kind of sorority it is about as apt as I can think up.
I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime
Motto
I've always been partial to the line on the sword from Heinlein's 'Glory Road'.
"Dum vivimus vivamus"
"While we live, let us live"
Sometimes it feels like even well meaning people could do with stepping back a bit.
Being TG doesn't mean we want to be treated special, just let us get on with life as we see fit, as you would with anyone else?
not a latin fan
Just do it stupid...
seems best motto for those who are trans but afraid to come out.
The Latin
Sicut facere, stultus...
Nulli Secundus
Second to none (AFAIK).

Re-purpose an old motto that needs re-purposing
How about an oldie, but a goodie (if you focus on the higher theme of unity from diversity, and not on it's historical, nationalistic implications of forced assimilation)
E Pluribus Unum
(out of many, one)

I am post op and very happy
I am post op and very happy to blend back into society as female. My question back to you is would a trans sorority encompass both trans men and trans women? If it does it is not a sorority. I also don't know how many want to blend back in as "normal" like I try to. I am trans only in that I unfortunately was born male but I am and always have been female in my head, heart, and soul. So do we really need a Trans sorority? Not trying to be mean just asking questions from the other side of the fence maybe. I am proud to be Trans but also proud to be just another woman to most people.
