I came across this comic while on facebook. It is cute and poignant, hard combo to pull off. I like it and thought some of you would enjoy it as well. I always like transgender stuff that stays away from sex.

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.

I just don't know....
Looking at a couple of examples of the strip, I was bothered by it, without fully understanding why. It could be because I have a similar idea in the works (with the exception that my character is disabled and transgender). I wanted to avoid the dreaded label of "derivative."
Or the fact that the artist draws the way I'd like to draw, but can't (the main character is pretty close to how I wanted mine to look).
Or it could be that the samples I read came off as a bit shrill.Christine Smith's "The Princess" manages to cover pretty much the same territory without being too obvious about it, and does so with a great deal of humor.
