So yesterday and the day before, it pretty much snowed here all day, and it was what you would call a mixed blessing.
One the one hand, the city looks beautiful, white everywhere, and after a pretty grim summer that is a good thing.
On the other hand, drivers here seem to forget how to drive in snow, so car accidents have been plentiful.
Ah well, into every life a little snow must fall, right?

SNOW, it's a four letter word!
We saw snow last Thursday night. Luckily the days leading up to it were warmer so most of it melted, leaving only enough on the ground to tell it had snowed.
Everyone here forgets how to drive it in each year too! One would think with everything snow covered for 2-3 months each year, drivers would remember how to drive in it here. I usually try to stay off the road the first day the roads are covered.
After Christmas I refuse to call it snow any longer and refer to it as "that D@#n white Sh#t" and remind everyone it is a four letter word. By the middle of February when the high temps can be below 0 F most agree with my nomenclature :)
We the willing, led by the unsure. Have been doing so much with so little for so long,
We are now qualified to do anything with nothing.
I'm dreaming...
"... of a White Christmas, just like the ones I used to know."
Of course, in 2004, I missed the White Christmas in Houston and southeast Texas when in New York visiting family. A snowfall in Houston is often a signal for jubilee -- except for that storm a couple years ago that wrecked havoc with the power.
