Yep, the actual concluding chapter of On The Edge is yours today!

Its loud, its banging, its BlauHase featuring your favourite wunderkind, Erdbeere! Maybe Whispering Grass gives the wrong idea but in typical Bond stylee it all makes sense in the end!

So that's that, the follow on book, Smell of the Crowd, will make its Big Closet debut once i've finished my summer travels which should give you time to get your maps of Hessen ready to follow the BlauHase tour!

After the events of Sunday, i've spent the last two days sorting out Plan B for my GOC trip. On Monday it was the bike, Foxy had a quick service then it was setting up the racks which had to be transferred from the poorly bike. And the damage is worse than i thought, i have some major expense to get it back on the road, probably @ £200 (thats about $250) which is frustrating as i only recently spent close on that sorting the bike out including some of the now destroyed stuff. Anyhow, that aside, The bike is ready.

Today it was a short shakedown ride, just shy of 40km to make sure its all doing as i thought it would then it was a partial strip back to pack it up ready for tomorrows journey north. Along the way i've lost several kg of food/kit, my tour having been reduced by 4 days and i spent the afternoon packing everything up. Tomorrow then, i journey up to Leeds where i'll spend the night at my daughters gaff then i do a micro tour loop up to the Yorkshire Moors where i overnight before dropping down to York on Friday for the cycling festival weekend. Monday i'll make my way to Sheffield to see my Dad and maybe get in a couple of 'proper', northern rides.

The forecast is looking good, lots of yellow thing in sky and with the solstice on Friday too the weekend should be a corker!

I've had some sad news today though, another old friend passed away at the weekend, Lew was a sometimes ride companion, sometimes work colleague and all round good chap. I think i need to make some more friends, at this rate there won't be any left in a couple of years!

I'll try to post an update of some sort when i get to Sheffield but for now,
Wiedersehn,
Madeline Anafrid
