or is it?

After all the 'excitement' of the festive season its back to something like normal now, i've returned from my trip to GOC and Germany, the weather is typical January - wet, cold and windy and the routines of day to day life are slipping back into place. For me that also includes returning Maddy from the disguise worn over the last couple of weeks, my usual girly semi gothness having been dialled back to zero. (its just easier than rubbing things up the wrong way).So i've been busy re curating my piercings and sorting out the unsightly hairiness, i'm nearly back to basic Maddy!

I have done other stuff this year, on Monday, the 1st, i took the 'new' bike out again, its become a tradition to do a short New Years Day ride, this year was forty kilometres out to Redmires where i walked before Chrimbo, before looping back through the southern burbs. Short but 777m of up, 300 of which were in the long pull out of the city to the Eastern Moors.

Tuesday, a nasty wet day was spent travelling back to Brizz - thanks again to my volunteer driver, my thanks always seem so inadequate but they really are heartfelt. Today i need to get in some groceries and catch up on some other chores.

So 2024, who woulda thunk? I've never been one for resolutions and i'm not gonna start now but i do have a 'wish' list of 'to do's', so in no particular order:

Finish some of the writing i've got stacked up
Write the book of bike rides i've had simmering away in my head
Travel more both domestic and furren, including a decent holiday trip and Christmas markets
Sort out the various bikes to get them back in service

So there we are, time for a late breakfast.
