SRU: Haiku

Another old story, another high school football story, another experiment – this time, writing in haiku.
Haiku - a Japanese form of poetry made up of three lines of, respectively, 5, 7, and 5 syllables.
* * * * *
Autumn in high school,
A war, football season, starts.
Testosterone rules.
Joe Trayne, quarterback,
Tall and strong, smart and handsome,
Hero to his school.
Stu Geller watches.
Old friendship turns to cold hate.
Jealous second string.
Within a store front,
A wizard deals in mischief
Wrapped in robes of blue.
Before the big game,
A potion mixed in cool beer
Weaves transformation.
Warm kiss in shadows,
A hero claims his reward.
Sue Geller blushes.

Haiku?
This was a nice one.
Very good use of underrated art form.
Please, some more of these.
I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime
5-7-5...
Interesting take.
Came out better than it had
Any right to be.

And another winner. I'm not a huge fan of Haiku, but I am of this one. I loved the twist at the end when the jealous second string former traitorous "friend" would up having his bait and tackle switched for her "comfort station". Brilliant work as always. T.
