I'm better but still sick as two dogs, each of which is sicker than the other one. The antibiotics are clearing up the sinus infection but I still have a cold and sore throat, plus the meds leave me tired and feeling goofy.
My apologies to Keshara Narme and Nom de Plume who've been waiting weeks for me to put things up. Apologies to other folks, too. The next three weeks are going to be busy, I'm moving again at the end of the month and next weekend is San Diego ComiCon where I plan to stay at least one day.

Take Care Of Yourself, Girl!
I've just gone through pretty much the same thing myself Erin, so I have some idea of the total misery you are experiencing. You gotta get well first, and that means taking care of yourself: getting plenty of rest, taking your meds (all the antibiotics!), getting plenty of rest, eating right, and, oh, did I mention - getting plenty of rest!
As for the meds making you goofy, how would we tell?
Seriously, if you don't get this completely knocked out, it will come back and knock you right back down, so take care of yourself. I'm sure you are looking forward to the ComiCon, but you need to be 100 percent or you shouldn't go. As for the moving, didn't you just move awhile back? You need to put down some roots, girl!

People keep calling and waking me up to ask if I'm resting.
"Ib sig," I say on the phone. "What?" they say, "We can't understand you but you sure sound sick. You should get some rest."
As for being goofy:
There once were two tall Irish brothers, each so tall that he was taller than the other. Sean, the older, taller brother, said one day, "We've a fine crop wool this year and lambs to sell as well. We'll get a better price for them if we go to London and find a buyer ourselves."
"Aye," said Seamus, the younger, taller brother. "Besides, it's a very good excuse."
They'd neither of them been to London before so they visited with their old Da to get his advice before venturing into the big foreign city.
"Ye'll do fine in London," said their Da, who was looking up, not being tall himself. In fact, he were a short man, shorter than two other short men put together. "But there's one thing to remember if you're going to the City. If you want a good beer, find yourselves a Bass house."
"We'll do, Da," promised the boys and they set out.
On reaching London, they had soon concluded their business and got a very good price for their wool and lambs as it had been a warm, mild winter in Scotland and the sheep there had not obliged by growing thick wooly coats at all. In fact, many a Scottish farmer had been forced to shear his pigs to get what wool he could, which is why, to this day, there are so many bald pigs in Scotland.
Feeling good about the price they had gotten for their fine Irish wool and lambs, the boys decided to celebrate with a beer and remembering their Da's advice they set out to find a Bass house.
The first pub they went into denied them. "'Tis Newcastle, boys," said the publican.
And in the second inn they found, the innkeeper told them, "We're pulling Watney's here."
But in the third tavern when Seamus asked politely, "Is this a Bass house?" the tapster merely nodded.
"Grand," said Sean. "Two Guinness, please."

Feeling Goofy
I haven't felt Goofy for years, but I did have "thing" a few months back for one of the Seven Dwarfs -- and feeling his %&$*# was nothing to sneeze at.

That Goofy Feeling
I used to work at Disney land and I have it on good authority that feeling Goofy is Mickey's job. :)
Some of the best shows there happen behind the scenes. My first day as a cast member, we newbs were being led on a tour and followed Donald out a hidden door in the back of Toon Town to a passage between some workshops. And there at the other end of the passage stood another Donald, something no guest would ever get to see.
The Ducks glared at each other and both went into gunfighter crouches. Our guide kept us quiet as the two Donalds stalked one another while an imaginary fifer played Sergio Leone themes in our heads. The Donald we entered with wore a red muffler around his neck and stood about 4'9" tall in his duckfeet. The other Donald had bowlegs and stood no more than 4'6" wearing a green muffler.
The clear winter sunlight of Southern California made the scene even more surreal. The Ducks advanced, their rigid faces somehow snarling, their upholstered feathers somehow fluffing. They looked like Two Angry Young Fowl. They advanced to within a pace of each other and without removing their mufflers from around their necks began to weave their bodies and heads in such a way as to flail each other with the free ends of their long, woven scarves.
Suddenly, with no discernible signal, in the midst of our laughter, they broke apart, the one with the red scarf racing for his break room at the end of the passage and the shorter, bandy-legged Donald waddling toward the door to Toon Town. Both paused before exiting from sight and took their bows while we clapped like maniacs.
Most of the smaller costumed characters at Disneyland are played by women, many of them Filipinnas, so this is a TG story. :)

You know you have the affection of us all. And, we need you healthy, more than we need the gift of your work. If the meds are making you goofy, enjoy having an excuse for making errors. Over the years, I have to play that card to trump a lot of woe.
I am told that sleep is your best medicine. Please take your proper dosage. I will anxiously look forward to hearing from a healthy Erin.
