I read until the last one I posted, with a view to perhaps writing some more. The reason I haven't is that things have changed so much in the UK with the ruling of the corrupt Supreme Court against trans people, this was obviously a politicised decision, with money coming from that stupid but very rich woman author and pressure from TERFS. I now have no belief in the UK Justice system, parliamentary system or UK based multinationals. I also believe most ordinary people in the UK or US are stupid and self-centred or deluded and while I won't deliberately harm anyone, I think the transphobia stirred up by politicians and the media is unnecessary and hateful. Apart from the odd petty crime, like ordinary people, we do no one any harm, 0.5% of the population, we are too small to influence anyone, so why is this hate everywhere against us - because the stupid people, I mentioned earlier believe the propaganda the media, politicians and one or two Z-list celebrities spout. They are trying to culturally exterminate us, a genocide of sorts, why? I don't understand.

Because they can...
I have come to a very similar view to you, Ang, although perhaps tempered by the positive reactions I have received from friends and people whom I meet. Many people are not stupid, nor do they hate us. Some people have a genuine gripe about things like trans athletes, but the vast majority, in the words of Morgan Freeman "really don't give a shit".
The problem, I think, is that weak and spineless politicians are afraid to be seen to be in our corner.
The lovely leader of the opposition decided that, in attempt to look more right wing than Loony Nigel Fararago, Transphobia was a vote winner, and so made all kinds of vile and defamatory statements, and his majesty's Prime Minister, decided to chase her to the bottom. A plague on (all three of) their houses.
Remember that Badenoch, Starmer, Streeting, Falconer, Farage and even the sub Enid Blyton Wizard Woman will all disappear into the mire of mediocrity from which they crawled, sooner, I suspect, than later. "Even Pharoes turn to sand" to quote the Styx song.
So all we can do is endure, and in the long run, we shall overcome. (I hope)

what a long strange trip its been."
Political; as you said.
It is indeed, political. In order for a politician to keep getting enough votes to stay in office they need something that they ardently support or vehemently oppose. The idea is to polarize the voters. It's much easier to find a target to oppose than one to support. The trick is to oppose something that will tick off the least number of people. It's a plus if the general populace is ignorant about it and those who already have an opinion against it are vocal and well known.
As you said, with us making up 0.5% of the population even with 100% of us against them, they lose statistically nothing. All it takes it play to the ignorance of the masses and feed the common misconception to get the votes and influence other politicians to get on the band wagon.
Unfortunately I don't see this winding down until something more lucrative takes its place.
