Melanie and I are leaving this evening on a short getaway, from Sunday evening to Wednesday afternoon. We won't be far away and we will have our laptops with us.
Tuesday is my birthday, so it seemed like a good time to get away. :) A visit to Disneyland is likely (we have tickets), but my stamina is pretty low lately, so no guarantees. We've planned and budgeted for this trip since January.
Play nice while we're gone. :)
Hugs,
Erin

Do we HAVE to be good children, Mommy?
Have a great vacation, Erin but don't push yourself too hard.

Too right
I brought my inhaler, my CPAP, my oxygen compressor. I'm good.

Sound precautions, Erin
My sister has asthma.
Canadian forest fires are sending dangerous smoke particles (pm2.5) our way so she picked up air masks at Walgreens.
Some are N95 respirator grade for really bad days.
This supplements her meds and the room air filters at home and work.
Plus her car has a cabin air filter.
Random as heck when the air is bad.
The Wisconsin DNR has a nifty interactive air quality map which helps.
California has something similar I assume.
Have fun and stay well, Erin.

Wow, it has been nearly 20 years since my last trip…….
To Anaheim. I was in Orange County on business, and took the time to spend a day at Disneyland. As I had to be in Stockton a few days later, one day was all I could spare - but it was a nice day away from work anyway. It was pleasant to just stroll and watch the crowds, sit outside and enjoy a nice dinner and a drink.
My first trip there was as a child, but I barely even remember that. Although I was born in Los Angeles County, we moved east when I was young and it was some years before I made it back there.
We visit DisneyWorld annually (just my spouse and I nowadays, but it used to be the whole family) - usually twice a year, but that depends on how hot it is and whether or not we feel up to dealing with the crowds. Even when we go, it is almost always for only a day - sometimes two, while we spend the rest of our time visiting other places or sailing. In all honesty, my spouse and I get nearly as much enjoyment out of simply walking around Disney Springs rather than in the park itself, stopping and enjoying the music at the multiple locations, doing a little shopping, and people watching. It makes for great exercise just walking through the whole place.
Unfortunately, Disney has begun to suffer from the same lack of civility that much of the country is succumbing to of late. What used to be a nice place to visit is rapidly becoming less so. And it’s not just the attitudes of the people, but the money-grubbing of Disney itself has become ridiculous. They continue to invent new ways to grab more of your money. And what used to be one of our favorite times, the Food and Wine Festival, has become nothing more than a pack of drunken people trying to “drink their way around the world” as the saying goes. By mid afternoon, Epcot is filled with obnoxiously loud drunks during the festival.
Our twice a year sojourns to DisneyWorld used to be once in the Spring for the Flower and Garden Festival, and once in the fall for the Food and Wine Festival, but we are starting to avoid the Food and Wine Festival and push the timing of that trip later. Of course, then you begin to run into the Very Merry Christmas Party - which we took our kids to annually for years, but it has become more and more just another way for Disney to collect more money.
Anyway, hopefully you have a good time! Stay safe, and have fun - both of you!
