I am somewhat curious as to your reasoning…….
I will admit that I am a somewhat discerning reader, and as such I don’t read everything posted here. In fact, I ignore many authors and a lot of stories due to the type of stories the author writes, or simply not liking their style. I think we all have our own likes and dislikes.
But that does not mean that any author should not get kudos or comments from others; even if I don’t read a story, many others do. Apparently, those who are reading your work simply can’t be bothered to comment. I would expect that this may be more a comment on the quality of the reader, rather than the quality of the author or the work.
I would encourage all those who read here to leave a kudos if you like a story, or even better, leave a comment. It can be about the story or how it effects you (quite often my comments are about something the story has reminded me of in my own life, or about how it has made me feel), or it can be a comment on something you liked about the story, or perhaps a suggestion for the author.
But all authors need encouragement.
I am sorry that I have not been encouraging to you.

It seems that over the last years, the members here have strayed from that moto. Feeling deflated and uninspired is no way to be.

I sympathize
I was upset that I got so few reads on my last story but it wasn't unexpected with the cautions I put at the top. I think your story has the same problem. I didn't read it based on the cautions. I'm sure others did the same. Thank you for those cautions.
i have to agree
i dont read anything with abuse warnings or forced .as others have said i am very picky on what i read .
Please don't let it upset you
Every reader has their own preferences. For example, I gave up on incomplete stories some years ago, so I tend to avoid anything that says "Chapter X" or "Part X". (The 'Solo' flag at BC is invaluable.)
You won't have had any feedback from me, therefore, but that doesn't mean I don't want to see the story finished: quite the opposite.
Feedback from workshopping writers is a lot different to the feedback relationship one has with readers, which can be rather... um, upsetting - and the 'thumb' thing is even more simplistic. Personally, I ignore it.

I get very few, but I really appreciate them. I don't write for approval, but from necessity, and I believe I do a reasonable job, so in essence it is nice to be told if I have touched someone's soul in some way--see the comment from Dallas above.
Comments are vital, because they are the source of much fine tuning. At the risk of arrogance, or at least the sound of it, anyone that comes to this site does so to read what is posted by those who write. If something has caught your attention enough to tempt you to read it, then a comment, a kudos, a thank you, a hint that the author isn't simply shouting into the void: common courtesy.
