Off to vote in a few minutes.
Maybe get a few groceries after.
Sis said when she voted shortly after 7 AM CDT a local TV station was interviewing voters... ACK!
How does it go, hold your nose and vote for the candidate of your choice.
An oldie moldy but true.
Do vote, it's a way to tell the powers that be you approve / disapprove of their actions.
Whether they listen.... ? (snicker)

P.S. SIX days until our youngest cat's 10th birthday. YEAH Gracie!

Well, I hope that this post
Well, I hope that this post isn't an April Fools Joke on its own, and that John is back.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
Back
He has appeared a couple times recently, so he's back.

He's B-a-a-a-a-a-c-k!!!!!
John, it's lovely to see your name appearing here again! I, at least, have missed you and I dare say that goes for quite a few of us "oldies". Please stay this time.
Thank you
for being my friend!
Love, Andrea Lena
Yeah, I'm back, more or less
Or should that be The Terminator's famous phrase, " I'll be back."

Sorry, wrong bach... back.

Age is starting to get to me but overall, I'm okay.
Thanks for your kind words.
My younger sister has an exam to evaluate her cataracts today. Fun.
Lots of rain but it is Dr Demento's birthday, for all you music lovers so not totally dreary.

That's okay. You can be Bach
That's okay. You can be Bach. I'll be Mendelssohn. Sephrenia is the one that has a Handel on things, though.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
I volunteer
to be Maria Anna Mozart!

Cataracts
Tell your sister not to worry. Last year my optician noted that I had a cataracts in my left eye and a few weeks later I had an examination at a clinic that specialises in them, then shortly afterwards the operation itself. It was totally painless and not a big deal at all.
Of course the difference is that my operation in the UK was free on the NHS, yours may not be, I guess.
I was 84 at the time so my eyes have lasted well :)

April Fools on me ...
I started hearing noise of voting here in Chicago, USA ...
I said "Uh-oh. Gotta pick the ones that stink least."
{This is my personal voting thing. No need to tell me I'm a fool. I already =know= that.}
When in doubt, here's my heuristic.
First, not never-ever, no way in CAFO =anyone= from "that party".
Then, as feasible, one of:
+ =against= the incompet=er=incumbent, or
+ =for= the Ladies (plural, as we may be replacing 3 of seven board members), or
+ for/against based on my capricious name prejudices.
For the dozens of judges seeking election or retention, first the Ladies, then by name.
For education (I'm childless, Don't care if it ups my taxes) referendum(s): almost always 'Yes".
For other referendums(s): Bleep. I gotta read them, and then I gotta =think=

So, I checked for my polling place on-line, and went there.
My polling place is a school; and it was doing school things. No extra flags, no hoard of in-person advocates, no "polling place" signs, no crowd of voters coming and going, no flotilla of campaign signs, precisely 100+ feet from the polling place ...
So, went inside and asked, and I found the greeter/guard was clueless.
Went home baffled and Googled some more ...
The voting in question was for Chicago Suburbs only ...and I live inside Chicago before, after, and on this April Fools Day...
