The day after Christmas was lazy in my house, and that was a wondrous thing. I used my free time to hang out here with my BC friends, and it couldn’t have been better.

I read two complete novels — very different, but each incredibly good, from crazy talented writers. I’d been eyeing Jenny North’s Charade for the better part of a week, wondering when I’d get time to read it. As always, she didn’t disappoint, with a noir mystery set in Faraday City. Then this evening I checked out Becoming, a new novel by Czolgolz set in Iowa and Hollywood. Both novels had memorable characters, great dialogue, and plots that really grabbed me. And Erin gave us another installment of Pete.

And if all that weren’t treat enough, two authors whose work I admire tremendously read and commented on stories I posted earlier. Maybe this makes me insecure, but, damn, I love it when people do that. :)

Anyway . . . days like that don’t happen all the time, or maybe even often. But they happen here, and it makes me so very grateful to everyone who makes BC function— as a website, as a business, but most of all, as a community. It is a very special place.

Whose comments I always take the time to read, and you are definitely one of them. Not only do I enjoy reading what you have to say - I have always looked forward to seeing your slightly different viewpoint on things, but I also find it a great way to get referred to new stories to read!

Thank you for giving me two new authors to explore?
