In the last few weeks I've gotten warnings from Amazon Kindle about "Problems with my payment". I've checked my bank balance and there should be no issue. No certain author. It makes me feel reluctant to use Kindle. In the past, Kindle has been my GO TO resource.

This reminds me of a REM hit, "It's the end of the world as we know it".

It is probably scammers

if you check the from messages and who they are from. They are not from Kindle. Someone is monitoring your payments from Kindle probably from a site you are using.

They May Not Even Know...

...whether you're buying from Kindle. I'm currently getting constant emails -- at least one a week -- claiming irregularities (usually declined payments) relating to SiriusXM. I've never had a SiriusXM account or applied for one.

Scammers

No connection to Kindle, this crap is blasted out in bulk hoping to find a sucker who will respond.

Doing Something

If we could require something like "Hash Cash" to send emails (Texts? Other messages?) the CPU burden would be lost in the noise for ordinary users, but (hopefully) prohibitively burdensome for bulk emailers. Admittedly, this is a decades-old idea, and bulk emailers may be able to handle the required CPU.

They thumb their noses at us: "Nyeah nyeah, look at what we can do, and you can't do a damn thing about it."

This is an old fiction story about someone who did something about it: "Young, Dumb, and Full of Cum" authored by Mike Hunt or M1ke Hunt. CAUTION: Eye Scream, Mind Control.
