Today, sitting in a group of (Sunday) people numbering about 50 people, both male and female, and seeing the obvious genetic variations, it came to me. We Are The Aliens !!! Said group of people have made a lot of money pushing Genetic testing to the tune of around $150 per person. Other people, purportedly expert scientists, say they have spent years digging through ancient ruins.
It seems obvious to me that "we" are the Aliens. Pardon my repetition.
I feel a story coming on.

It's been speculated any times, and in various ways ...
... that Earth is the dumping ground for the insanes, or the criminals of Galactic Society ...
Or that our off-planet ancestors crashed here long ago, and were not rescued ...

There Are Several Theories
The most obvious is that our civilizations have missed each other in time. Considering that hundreds of thousands of years can pass between our planet and others, that the aliens are now dead and gone, or yet to achieve the level that we have reached.
Alternatively, they fear us (and why shouldn't they?) so they just keep quiet because they want nothing to do with us.
They're out there somewhere, but even our galaxy is a vast, vast place and the closest civilization could be a hundred thousand light-years away.
All Sorts Of Theories
I'm very fascinated by the ancient ruins like those in Central and South America, Africa. and India. I've heard prognostications that humanity began in Southern Iraq. We won't know until one of those ancients shows up to build some more. All these theories are 'pre-religion', so, please don't yell at me.

Lately I find Doulgas Adams theory as set out in The Hitchhikers Guide series to seem as likely as any other. 42 is the answer.
