Since it is on Patreon, one has to sign up to vote and I am not going to do that,
I guess I don't get to vote then.
You don't have to donate any money or anything
or even sign up to follow BC. As far as I'm aware if you've got a Google, Facebook, or Apple account you can just tell it to use that and do the voting.
We don't have a good voting API for BC itself, and using our Patreon not only costs nothing for anyone, but frankly, gives us a chance to get people to look at what we have there, which also helps the site out.
Sorry if that's not open enough, but almost any other polling software we could use would also require you to sing up for something to do so, and at least this way doing so should be relatively simple for folks and not get them a ton of spam as far as I know.

Not about money
Everybody seems to try to data aggregate these days via email addressess or telephone numbers. I am not saying BC is data aggregating but every other website seems to be doing that. It all gets fed into the data aggregating machine in the sky.
