The children who brutally murdered a transgender girl have been named, in a positive article about her death, Zoe Williams comments that transphobia seems to be a component of why Brianna was murdered and how it is whipped up by the right-wing press and politicians, I think it's worth a read and I agree we should remember the name of the victim not the perpetrators, who will locked up for years.

The intense drumbeat of peril and surveillance is the hallmark of paranoid delusion: but they’re not being paranoid. Trans people have been used instrumentally as a muster point for the right, and the far right, in media and in politics, and this has concrete, foreseeable results.

For me, the frustration becomes exponential when even some folks in the at-large LGBTQ+ community almost parrot the opinion that Trans victims bring harm upon themselves by merely expressing who they are. The astonishingly unjust treatment made all the more painful by blaming the victim equally if not more than the offenders.

I'll thank you for your all-too-timely post, since there isn't an "I acknowledge this post as sadly ironic!" option.

Or as we like to say in New Jersey, "F*** that S***!"

Frustration

It's always frustrating when you find out that the very people that should be championing your choice to be yourself are sabotaging it instead. It's a sad fact that just because someone is LGBTQ+ doesn't make them any different with regards to empathy or personality vs a straight cis person.

There's assholes and selfish people in ALL groups of people and a lot of times they'll throw others under the bus just to save themselves. Caitlyn Jenner comes to mind. I won't go over how many instances of what she's done that have actively hurt the trans community but it's quite comical how often she supports the very people trying to destroy people like her.

Just Be Who You Are

In my 20+ years experience with it, it is wisest to simply be a normal person.
