not that surprising for Turkey
not that surprising for Turkey. However, it is still a tragic loss of life.
Being Different
Means being a target. If only people were to understand that each of us is different.
Be kind to those who are unkind, tolerant toward those who treat you with intolerance, loving to those who withhold their love, and always smile through the pains of life.

In a perfect world these women will find a life like everyone else. Until then the price (death-suicide) will be the cost of many who are born with a female mind inside a male body. A loss to all of society for truly these are God's Special People.

Living in Turkey
More than thirty years ago I lived happily in Turkey which at the time was becoming more 'westernised'. There were still what I thought of as cultural leftovers, like being treated as an 'honorary man' when I took positions of authority, but I never guessed that so many of the population would be women haters by 2016.

I suspect it's becoming
more of a religious single party state under Erdogan, who's a nasty piece of work.

Sadly I expect little better:
Sadly I have to say, I expect little else in a country that is becoming more and more islamic fundamentalist with each passing 'political' event. I live and openly transsexual life, that is to say, I don't make any attempt to 'Pass'. I do not attempt to masquerade as a woman and indeed I usually get read unless I make a deliberate attempt to appear female. The whole of Cardiff city centre knows me as Beverly, the transsexual and I don't care who knows it. The more people who see me, the louder the political statement I make. Transsexuals exist, GET OVER IT!
Even so I often incur abusive approaches and invariably by religious types. It seems that christians, jews, and muslims all have some obsession over male and female. It seems to form the cornerstone of their bigoted beliefs. Naturally, I would expect little better from latter day Turkey.
