My next is actually the product of a collaboration with the fabulous Chris Archer, author of ‘Special Inquiries’. ‘Gamer Girl’ is the story of a lad who likes to present as a female in an online computer game. It’s only meant to be an innocent bit of fun – after all, if anybody realises he’s a boy he can just sign out and never go back, right?

It soon becomes more complicated than that, with higher stakes to play for.

Weighing in at sixty-six thousand words, our teen romance is finished, though some kind folks are currently reading it for us. We won’t release it until they’ve given their feedback (TransScripts folks are amazing for feedback) and we’ve addressed any lingering concerns. (Or should that be lingerie concerns?)

Meanwhile, if you haven’t ever read ‘Special Inquiries’, I strongly recommend it.

Best wishes,

Bryony

Deja vu

Has this been published previously or partially published somewhere? I could've sworn I've read this before.

Déjà vu?

I have trailed a couple of passages from ‘Gamer Girl’ on my blog, but otherwise it’s 100% new and unseen.

There is something on smashwords but you can only read a paragraph at a time so no point in trying to read it.

One paragraph at a time?

Special Inquiries should still be available as a downloadable .pdf at Smashwords. Thanks for the feedback – we’ll need to investigate that.

Chris Archer on Smashwords

Ahemm, the link in the original post takes you to Smashwords where you can download "Special Inquiries" in several formats, epub and pdf included.
If your reader does not allow you to read it a way acceptable to you, the problem obviously is at your end and not on the author's or publisher's side.

Cool. A new-to-me book or two.

I just added Special Enquiries to my library.

And by sheer coincidence I started reading My Constant Moon for the first time yesterday. A nice change from re-reading Egyptology over and over. I DO love that book.

Thank you for all of your wonderful stories.

Re: I'm looking forward to this

Bryony's away on her hols at the moment: I packed her off her a .mobi copy for some holiday reading. She tells me there are one or two things she wants to tweak (which, with Bryony, can mean anything from a single word to a complete rewrite!), but it shouldn't be long now until it's available.

Thanks for you interest; watch this space!

Chris

Oops!

That should be 'your' interest, of course - I blame the low pay and long hours!
