More news from GOC!

Here we are, i've been oop north for close on a month but my return south is getting to be imminent!

As i thought, yesterday ended up being internet free for me, we hit the local Swedish store and nearby white goods purveyor before heading to Sainsbury's for a small grocery shop and some lunch. On the way back we visited pater, as usual there wasn'y much to say after five minutes but it was over an hour before we headed back to the house.

We didn't actually purchase the freezer or chairs earlier, in part as we couldn't transport anything but alsop we wanted to check some stuff back at the house. Decisions were made and a session on the interweb soon had a hole in someones bank account and goods ordered, both retailers surprising us with next day, ie today, delivery promises! By the time we'd removed the old items from the bungalow both suppliers had sent through time estimates and my day was filled!

So, as i speak to you now, the freezer has been delivered, i needed to swap the door around but its ready to go less than 24 hours after ordering! The chairs should arrive early evening but i daren't go out in case they are early so no visiting the sick today!

Which brings us to my return to Brunel City. With dad now out of hospital, there is basically no need to prolong my stay here, even with him currently just twenty minutes from the house, a visit to sit in silence for an hour, disrupts my day to the point that writing or even going for a ride is nigh on impossible. To be honest its now doing my mental health no good at all. The plan then, is to return south before the weekend, when exactly is somewhat dependent on my back, the pain has moved and is maybe less intense but i doubt i would survive a 5 hour coach journey atm so its wait and see.

In the meantime i'll try another short ride tomorrow before the invalid visit, its a good indicator of how my back is going and i need to regain some sanity!

~~##~~

Since the New Year i've not coloured my hair and its now pretty much its natural dirty blonde with some sun bleached bits which is okay but tbh, i'm bored with it. So when i return south i'll be hitting the bottle but i'm not sure what colour to go, maybe you guys can help? Below are the front runners, let me know which you think i should go for, or if there's something else - you could influence my look for the next couple of months!

Its the colours rather than the style i need help with, the style will be similar to the pics, ie bangs, the rest either worn up or as in the pics. It could be one solid colour or 50/50 or different fringe. It doesn't have to be any of these, i'm open to suggestions but blues don't work very well for me. Let your imaginations run wild and let me know what you think. This isn't an idle threat, i will post a picture of me with the 'winning' colour hair as soon as its done!

Now i've thrown down that challenge, i'll end this post and wait patiently for the rest of todays deliveries!

Tschussie,
Madeline Anafrid

Pink I think

Though I have never seen it a deeper chestnut?
You've seen mine, the York sun and time have burned it cerise/mauve, will have to do something with it soon.

"Reach for the sun."

I like

I like your natural color. Maybe something darker. It suits your complexion. And eyebrows, not so thin as you have them now.

eyebrows

mine are quite scraggly, the result of decades of inadvertant 'plucking' by my riding glasses. And of course, being blonde they tend to 'disappear' so i end up drawing them in which works best if i remove the straggly stuff first - lol

I Googled "light ginger hair", and found two sites ...

... with photos of colors that I think might work for you.

Coupla things first: my color vision is good , but not perfect; My experience with hair coloring is pretty much limited to "Buy the Wife 'this brand and code number'". Even then, one time she came out "bright-new copper penny". I have no idea why I lived. At least the color 'tamed down' overnight.

With these web sites, me, you and the (optional) hairdresser are all looking at almost the the same color. (And we don't have to mess with RGB codes, or color names.)

The first site is: https://blog.wella.com/us/red-hair-colors. I think "best bets" are Ginger, Pumpkin Spice, Cherry Red, and Copper.

The second is https://unitedsalonsupplies.com/products/schwarzkopf-igora-r..., colors 0-55, 8-77,and 9-7

More thoughts, (and yeah, you didn't ask). Whatever color you pick, I think it will be better with highlights or sun streaks, I think your style should 'frame' your face, and have longer bangs, almost to your eyebrows (and let them grow back in, or a bit of eyebrow pencil). Lastly, I have no ideas for your eyes, but the hazel? gray? color just just fades.

The hair samples you showed us - they all look (to me) like anime cos-play. And they all look like not-so-good wigs.

can't do

a lot with my eyes, i was born with them!

They are actually a pale bluey green with a few strange flecks. I explained the eyebrows above, i tend to keep my bangs a bit shorter for riding but the default is eyebrow length when straight but i often get the tongs on it!

Thanks for your suggestions

Hair colours

Robyn B's picture

In my early transition days I let my hair grow and I could eventually sit on it.
I coloured it cherry/black for the basic colour and then had some burgundy highlights.
Around eight years ago I was spending around $150 per long hair service so I had it cut short and I have gone salt & pepper now.

A lot more easy to manage. A rinse in the shower, a quick brush and I am all done…

wish mine

would grow longer!

It hasn't been cut (apart from the fringe) in 30 years but is still only shoulder length! I would so love even a few more inches, sigh

If you want different..

I think the "electric green" that you pictured would be good. Well camouflaged when next you visit Chesterfield market. Shentalls always have that colour on the stall!
