Blog About:
So, the site tells me I have been on BC for a year and a day (Insert picture of champagne bottle here)! I’ve posted a lot of what Janet Seldon called “words ’n’ shit” over the last twelve months.
Maybe too many.
If I’ve been annoyingly eager, annoyingly enthusiastic, or just plain annoying, I apologize. There are times when I know I’ve butted up against the three golden rules, and I’m extremely sorry for that. You are a wonderful group of people, and you have been very welcoming. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Writers have no guild. There is no Masterharper to invite us to take the long walk from the apprentices’ table to join the journeymen of the craft. (I’d nominate Erin, but for sure she’d turn it down since she’d have to develop a taste for rare, and above all, expensive, red wine). We are left to find our places on our own.
For myself, I know I am an apprentice still, and likely to remain one for a long, long while. I have so much to learn. In the craft, certainly, but even more, in simple human understanding. There is so much wisdom here. But I am more than content to linger. I enjoy hearing Master Shonager correct my pitch, and Master Domick remind me of the purpose of a rest.
I raise a glass tonight to all of you who have done so much to make this a warm and welcoming community. You are the best!
Love and friendship,
Emma

A blessing
I certainly cannot speak for anyone other than myself, but I've found your presence here at BC to be, well, a blessing. Emma, your bubbly presence has been marvelous, and brings a smile whenever I see you've commented with your exuberant love and support on another story somewhere on the first page or beyond in the archives - because your words are sure to bring those authors joy, just like your comments have brought me on my own.
Add in that your own stories are written purely from the heart with care and amazingly developing skill, I could never ever say that your presence was in any way shape or form 'annoying'. Never.
So to your raised glass I'll raise my mug of water (hey, it's what I happen to have on hand), but also add in some lovely crackers and Havarti cheese! Because if you can't share a cheesy grin with a friend, then what is friendship?

I have enjoyed your stories a lot
One of the tricks I use is I wait till the last episode is published and then I start reading the story so I don't have to wait for the next chapter. Since I've had this stroke my memory is not so good. It is just one of my coping mechanisms. Please keep them coming.
May I disagree on one point?
Specifically, “Maybe too many.”
The Parting Glass
Emma, you have been a delight to myself and many others. You have made BC a better place and I believe have drawn us closer together as a group. You have forever changed the way we look at comments to stories. You have even inspired me to write ✍️ again, and for that I thank you.
You have educated me like no other author, and your breadth of knowledge is incredible. The Parting Glass has become one of my favorite songs and I have at least three different versions on my playlist. I think the Ed Sheeran and Hozier versions are my favorites.
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate’er befall,
And gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
To many more years, my friend! :DD

It's been a joy seeing you here,
and I hope you keep annoying us for years to come!

Annoy Me Some More
Tickle my feet until I nearly die laughing. Give me a lesson on pottery anytime. Entertain me and all of us with the atmospherics that you weave.
Just don't stop!
I must say
It's been a year well spent. I've enjoyed your work so much that I cruise the authors names for favorites and your name is one for my 'pick me' list. Keep 'em coming please.

Shucks. Your story "The Doorway" ...
... is far more than enough to "buy" my forgiveness for any faults or goofs you >think< you've made.
Not like you need to buy forgiveness ...

"The Doorway" is one of my "mini-refuges" when samsara starts to get to me.
Thank you!

Now, on to "Decision Matrix" ...
You've enriched...
Us all with your prose, humor, depth of characters you've created... Wouldn't change a thing Ms. Emma, wouldn't change a thing. Glad you're here and have graced us with your stories, assistance (I know I've asked for it), and friendship. Here! Here! to many more years!
Hugz Chica!

One year -- fun time.
One year; where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday when I first discovered your work. It was "Maximum Warp" that captivated me. I'm still mired in a backlog of trying to find a read your older work. Thank God I've only got a year to sift back through.
You say you're an apprentice??? I think with just the few stories of yours I've read, you can challenge the course and skip right up to the Journeyman's table and send a notice to the Master's table to make room for you because you'll soon be needing a space there.
Hugs

Glad you're here
I'm glad you're here -- I enjoy and admire your writing, and you seem like an awfully nice person as well.
Hugs and congratulations,

One year???? Seems so lonngggg when will it end?
Hopefully not for a very long long time. ^_^
Due to the diversity of subject matter you seem to get into in your stories there are ones where I am not interested in. Don't get me wrong, they are all very well written stories, every last one of them and that is NOT the problem. I love your voice regardless.
The diversity of your characters is breathtaking as well and you have avoided repeating characters from what I can tell which is diffficult for a lot of authors.
So, I offer up a prayer to the Muses that they never abandon you and be always sitting on your shoulders and whispering in your ears.
Cheers!
happy anniversary !
you're a good addition here!
