Unless I feel much better, there won't be a Bike tonight.

I have succumbed to a virus, I don't know if it's Covid, but I have a stupid tickly cough that has kept me awake for two nights and prevented me from attending a geology workshop that I have wanted to go to for a year. I am so fed up with life at present I'd like to disappear to a tropical island and never come back.

Get well

Quickly!

It’s that time of year, cold and damp, various sniffles always do the rounds. I usually get one per winter, horrid for a few days then never fully clearing until the weather warms up.

Keep warm

A shame that you missed the Geology workshop. Is it something that might run again in a few months? Lucy xx

On Tropical Islands

You could get malaria, dengue fever, amoebic dysentery and all sorts of other nasties. I know from experience.

Whatever you have, it's probably something your local doctors know how to treat, so get well soon and if you have to rest so be it.

When you feel better you can resume "work" for us all.

Get well soon Angharad, don't be to dissapointed over the lecture, remember the infamous Dr. Sheldon Cooper quote " geology isn't a real science" giggle. Before the rock lickers lynch me, I actually find it fascinating despite only studying it to CSE level

Tropical Island?

Given the sub-zero temps we are experiencing at the moment, there would be a lot of people more than willing to join you.
Get better soon,

The Cold

Samantha, given people on both sides of the Atlantic, I think it best to be very clear about temperatures. A few degrees Celsius below zero, while below freezing and unpleasant, is not horrid. However, below zero Fahrenheit is downright nasty. 0 deg. C. = 32 deg. F. and 0 deg F. = -17.8 deg C. BTW, -40 is the same on both scales and is absolutely brutal.

Hope you’re well soon

And I hope you rest enough also before you return to normal activities.

I understand that there are a few older episodes of Bike that we can read.

Lot of stuff about

With the chill in the air and short days. I hope that you are over it soon. 3 relatives of mine have been stricken lately, and some of workmates.

Sorry! Take care of yourself first. Please!

... If I need a Bike 'fix', I can always start over at the beginning.

(Sometimes I wonder if our BCTS Admins had to invent something, just to group and track your Bike stories by hundreds groups ... :O ?)
