Either the site has had a sudden attack of good taste or it's still not quite right. I've tried twice to post the next thrilling installment but all I get is a notice saying the form is outdated and to refresh the page. Life is too short to piss about with puters, so I'll post it tomorrow.

In the middle of everything, someone is trying to attack the database while we are dealing with the other problems. :(

goddamnit, you folks just can

goddamnit, you folks just can't catch a break lately!

I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime

I have a few servers being

I have a few servers being pounded as well.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

I'm having the same problem.

I'm having the same problem. keep getting a 505 error, what ever that is.
Poor Erin and Piper have their hands full.

505's

505's can be caused by a bad page in your cache. Give it some time and try to force a reload of the page you're having trouble with. Right at the moment, we've tuned the firewall to keep the hacker out and the hardware reconfig seems to be holding up, too.

Asst. codes

I've been having problems for the last several days myself. But I'm getting 504s, 503s, 501s, and even an occassional 521. Might as well be in sanskrit for all it means to me.

Well

Some of those are real. :) We are seeing them too and we're working on it. What we've got going at the moment is a script that looks for problems, resets the cache and restarts Apache when it finds them. The script runs every ten minutes or so (we normally ran it every four hours to find a different less destructive sort of problem) so the site is seldom actually down for long unless we take it down to try a new fix.

But you can get a bad page showing an error stuck in your cache, your ISP's cache, CloudFlare's cache (an offsite caching service we use) or somewhere else in the system. Wait twenty seconds, hold down the shift key and press the reload on your browser. That may clear it up. If it doesn't wait ten minutes and try again.

Sigh.

send some love to Piper. She's working her tail off to fix the problems.
