The latest hater has at least shifted his acid throwing to Message Board over there, but they seem to be a driven individual!
I am just assuming that everybody here at my warm and friendly place, must be overcome by heatstroke with barely enough energy to read my stories but too exhausted to comment (?)

Endless mental debate
I'm stuck in the continual inner debate whether I should switch posting books in individual chapters rather than 18k-20k 'Parts' in the hope to generate more comments due to suspicion that when folks finally finish the long parts the time has blown past their bedtimes and they are far too tired to say anything coherent. Especially when processing the emotional ka-thuds of what they just read... ;)
Maybe the next book will go up in 8-10k pieces once per week, dunno...
I actually had a discussion with a friend today regarding positive feedback for creative efforts and how remarkable the effect can be. He does really cool wood-working making silly cartoon-looking things and posts pics on the intertubes occasionally - and admits the responses he gets are indeed rather addicting as well as motivating to keep making more. We compared notes for a bit instead of getting work done, lol.
Coherent comments
Some of us struggle to say (or write) anything coherent even when we're not tired!
I don't look at comment until the story has been up for a while
I post all my work as complete in one post. Since I'm a bit thin skinned, I prefer not to see any comments until I can be objective about it, IE it's not like a new born baby that everyone is expected to fuss over and say how cute they are.
Instead, I tend to look more at number of hits, daily hits and kudos. Anything that I write that doesn't reach 100 kudos in a couple of weeks, I consider as sub par for my writing. Mind you there was a time, before I won The Crush contest and my readership grew, I was surprised when anything made it to the century mark.

It's amazing how many of use
It's amazing how many of use the 100 kudos mark as a measure. My last story is up to 79 after a day and a bit, so hopefully that will make it. The same story got almost totally ignored on FM. Only 2 comments there from authors. Maryanne being one. I have noticed she has been getting unfair criticism on there.
The way the comments work you can call yourself anything and leave a comment, unlike here. So it could be just one person. Lit is very different you can delete negative comments if you want. They can be viscous sometimes.

I like the kudos function here. It is sorely missing on FM and various writers there bemoan the fact that they do not know whether what they write is hitting the mark or not.
When you are a regularly contributor there like me, you can expect reviews to be either gushy or critical - even abusive. I comfort myself with the thought that most read my stuff and think 'that was nice' and move on. They have no button to share their smile.
But the latest attacks have been just plain weird! Having supporter back them into a corner the cry seems to boil down to "Bundle up your stories so I don't have to read your name every day".

FM
I had stories posted on FM for many years before I came to BC.
I finally left FM due to the increasing number of I and XXX stories posted around mine. Also . . .I rework my stories quite often. BC makes it easy to edit and repost.
There are good and not-so-good people monitoring both sites. Erin is very good. Some of her people are suspect. That's human beings in a nutshell.
I've been with BC over twenty years. I left for several months when a commenter suggested one of my stories had driven her to contemplating suicide. She said that the love in the family in my story was in such stark contrast to her reality that she was seeing no future. I pulled my stories in fear. After several months, I realized that her irrational conclusions had nothing to do with me or my stories.
So . . . I have found the BC environment to be conducive to helping me pursue my writing growth. I have found BC to be a positive in my life whereas FM and Storysite had both been negative personal experiences.
You have a skill and a tenacity that others lack. I do wonder why you continue to have problems with FM and don't take the obvious step to remedy that personal pain.
