Good afternoon everyone. I managed to break my foot yesterday. My 5th metatarsal. So have been fitted with a giant spaceman boot( they didn't come in pink with a heel. I asked and got a giggle from the nurses. If only they knew). I bet I could make a story out of that. LOL

I have BUPA with my job, but they don't do A&E. Again I thank god for our wonderful free NHS. Arrived at emergency minor injuries at 7.30pm waited 20 mins. Saw a nurse, hobbled 50 yards to xray. Then hobbled back, and a boot and xray were waiting for me. I dread to think how much that would cost elsewhere.

I was told to take it easy for a day or two with my foot up. Worse thing is I can't drive for a while. So I jumped on here and saw that Toxic Planet is at 99 kudos. Can someone please push it to 100 to cheer me up.

I wrote it after being offended at the term "Toxic masculinity". It is banded about all too often by feminists just to describe normal male behavior. The real definition is different. It is behaviour that is seen "extreme male"harmful male behaviour. Behaviour that hurts everyone males and females.

Women can be just as guillty as men in re-enforcing it. How many times have you heard mother's or women say "Boys don't cry." "stop acting like a girl" "A real man would have...". I've seen women in pubs prevoke their men to fight, presumably they feel satisfaction that a man is fighting for them(Toxic femininity?)

The other part about old people. Now I realise people like to feel they are useful, even in small ways. There are so many lonely old people in the world. many of who a chat for half an hour would make the world of difference. I should create an app called "Just Meets" to link then all together. I'd probably be sued .

Most of it was just things I have felt about the world for a while now.

Being old is not all doom and gloom

I’ve actually enjoyed my many years since early retirement probably more than at any other time in my life. OK, that sounds as though I’ve led a very sad life, but that’s not the case. If you have a successful career, it means stress. If you raise a family, it means pain, hard work and stress.

Suddenly, retirement means you’re past all that and can enjoy yourself.

In the UK and other nations, there’s an organisation called the U3A which brings retired people together with a wide range of interests. I’ve made so many friends through that, I’d recommend it to anyone retiring.

Hi Lindale, I'm not due to

Hi Lindale, I'm not due to retire until I'm 67 so got 8 years plus yet. I bet they'll move it to 70 by then. I enjoy the work I do mostly ,but also enjoy my time off.

My brother retired at 60 and has taken a part time job.
