My Mother took a turn for the worse Tuesday. We're not sure, but she may have had a stroke. We were just lucky the nurse from Care Navigators was there for her weekly visit and got Mother transferred to the closest Hospice facility immediately. Mother is currently in the Hospice/Care Navigators section of Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

My sister is in town until the end of January, and we are currently alternating monitoring duty. However, Kim (my sister) is working remotely and has teleconferences she has to take tomorrow afternoon. So, I'll be at St. Joseph from about 10 AM to about 6 PM tomorrow.

It sounds as though

It sounds as though everything that can be done, is being done. You're there, your sister is nearby, and I'm sure your mother was aware of that before the event. That's about as good as it gets; my uncle didn't have anyone but his wife near, because he died too fast after diagnosis for people to get there to see him before the end. My FIL died after seeing my wife, but the night before his other two kids arrived to see him.

Recovery from a stroke is often predicated on how fast they can get attention -and it sounds like she was gotten too very quickly.

So, best of wishes, and I'll keep you in my thoughts.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
