Hey everyone,
So, as some of you may have seen on my Patreon page, late last week I started on something new to help me sleep at night and keep the nightmares at bay. The good news is it's been mostly working pretty well. I'm getting sleep and I haven't had too many bad nightmares and unlike the anti-anxiety drugs I was given a while back I can wake up if I need to.
The bad news is that when I have been awake I've been a total zombie and really sleepy all the time, which has made it hard to write anything coherent. I'm told that this is pretty normal and my body should adjust after a couple weeks but until then I'm effectively useless at writing anything detail or plot oriented or that requires deep thought. I've tried but it's just not happening. So you probably shouldn't expect anything out of me writing-wise for a little while.
Sorry about this, but the nightmares and insomnia on and off have been making things difficult for a long time now and I'm hoping that long-term this will be good for both me and my writing. Hopefully, when I'm in a somewhat normal sleeping pattern I'll be more producing more consistently and be able to get back into my schedule and working on some side projects I've been planning.
*big hugs to you all*

Trazodone
I've used it for close to 20 years and it works. I take 50 mg and that generally works and I can take 2 pills if I am really upset. I was worried about being addicted so titrated off of it for a while and no problem. If I get 6 to 7 hours of sleep mostly I'm good. Because of my disease, if the pain is really bad, then I take it and add 50 mg of Methocarbamol and a Tylenol. Sometimes that combination will get me close to 10 hours. I have Fibromialgia Rheumatica so no over exertion. I try to keep my weight close to 160 but now I am 170.
Best to you.

Trazodone
That's what they had me trying before, but while it was knocking me out for the night I didn't do anything about the nightmares, except that I couldn't wake up from them. I was dead to the world and couldn't wake until the damn stuff wore off.

I'm trying
Still so sleepy all the time, but I should at least have something posted for Halloween next week.

It's good to hear ...
... you found something that's been helping you! Stories can wait. Your health is a lot more important! I am a little curious about what you're using. The only thing that's helped me with nightmares is sleeping with the lights on.
It seems to be helping, but I
It seems to be helping, but I could do without the uber sleepy transition period. I'm actually using some herbal stuff. A mix of various Chinese herbs and some others. I don't like pharmaceuticals and trazodone was a bit of a disaster for me so I went and saw someone who specializes with herbal medicine mixtures. It's supposed to help with my all-round health as well once I'm used to it, but we'll see what happens.

Take Care
Of yourself first and foremost! We all very much enjoy your stories, but your health and well being absolutely comes first. Nice to hear that your nightmares are abating. :)

quis custodiet ipsos custodes
Thanks Rachael
It's nice to not be having them. I still have some strange dreams once in a while, but not as often and not near as nightmarish. Possibly because they aren't anxiety-fueled.

Self-care always comes first
A healthy author is much better to have than an unhealthy one, so take all the time you need to adjust.
Thanks Cyarra
I'm still really groggy and fighting to stay awake through most of the day but hopefully this will help overall long-term.

Zombies
Sorry dear, no zombies allowed until Halloween. But still, I hope you'll get better soon and take the time you need.

Aaaargh
Braaaaains... Ugh well, hopefully, I'll be over being a Zombie by then. Not yet though, I'm fighting it but I'm barely able to stay awake right now.
