When I originally wrote the screenplay for "Return to Innocence" I had the main character having to choose between the "good guy" and the "lost guy"
The good guy was Alex Foxx, a soon-to-be freshman in college who Jazz meets when he accidentally clotheslines her a a store. He's the all-round good guy who parents love
The lost guy was Kris Geremehl, her former boyfriend who has grown up over the years. They share a secret of a past abortion. Jazz's parents forced her and he didn't come to her rescue--not that he could do too much as a thirteen year old.
Jazeta carries this like a betrayal.

In the original version, Jazz still goes back to Kris, even though Alex is the "perfect guy". Along the way she has to stop her best friend from being harmed in an abusive relationship and how to how to handle a new pregnancy.

I wanted to adjust it so that Alex is more of a narcissist, finds out about her past and pries her away from her parents, best friend, her cheerleading practices, and her work with a modeling studio.
Until she has no one else to talk to. This forces Kris to try to get her to see she's a figurative prisoner.
The only issue is...while both are probable, which one makes the better story?
