I have some idea what you are going through as I have just returned from seeing my 98yr old Mother for the first time since her birthday on 1st March. She was thankfully well despit having tested positive for CV-19 (no symptoms).
Have a virtual hug from me.

I don't know if my sincere sympathy will help you in any way
but you have it anyway
I hope that you have someone to give you a RL hug.
So very sorry ...
I know that words pretty much can't help ...
No matter at how advanced an age ...
expected or not ...
no matter how the relationship was ...
A death is almost always shock, and is certainly a loss...

May all beings have the conditions for happiness, health and love in this world, and in the next.

You will likely be in shock for a while; suggest do not make Big Decisions.
Everyone grieves differently. There are no 'shoulds', or timetables. And what others expect - not all that important.
You are likely to get 'blindsided' by grief from just about anything - a thought, seeing something or someone, a melody, a scent ... Just go with it.
And take care of yourself. Please.
You only get one
Sorry to hear. I'm sorry if this sounds odd, but it helped me when my dad died: a friend told me that he, for just a week or two, talked to his father. In his heart, obviously. It did help me, surprisingly, though like he said, only for a little while.

Sorry for your loss.
I know when I lost my father last year it took me a while to process it. Even though we were not close. I still forget he's gone sometimes.
