Okay, I've not done this before, but I thought I'd while away the time and start a new book and keep a log of progress as I started.
This is day one and I started one hour ago @ 12:45 GMT .... I am now up to 2228 words.
The Book is called Charlie's Trials and is Book 2 in the Limbo Series.
Going on from the blog entry by Melanie yesterday about keeping up with the news trends and the dreaded Virus, I thought I'd write something wholly contemporary and include everything that is happening in the news.
I did not sleep too well last night, which is quite usual for me. In the depths of the night (4am), I had an idea.
Taking young Charlie (Protagonist from the first book) I thought I'd weave a tale around the continued curse of the treasure and intersperse it with her crossing to Limbo to sort out undead problems.
I had to write a little synopsis of Book one, just in case the reader hasn't read the first book, but have now moved onto the Introduction which is set in Mexico City in December 2019 (So three years after the end of Book 1).
It seems that greed got the better of the man entrusted to collect and transport the treasure back to Mexico. Thinking nobody would ever know, he took an item from the collection and has been plagued by increasingly nasty nightmares ever since.
The two ex-SAS men who accompanied him as an escort also removed small but precious items and they too are suffering from the dreaded curse.
Then, chapter One jumps back to England and Charlie who is now Nineteen and in her first year at University... more to follow.
As always in my work, I have no set plot in mind. Each page is as much a surprise to me as to the reader, so if anyone has any fun ideas they think might fit, then I'm open to suggestions. Please don't be offended if I don't use all of them, but I appreciate all offerings.
I will endeavour to update this at regular intervals, I can't fix a daily update as events might get in the way.
Anyway, this might entertain.

Interesting
I get a lot of my ideas at night. They have been flowing in the past few weeks. One day, I did nothing but write, eat, drink and you know what. At the end of the day, I'd written almost 10,000 words of a story that now has over 70,000 words.
When you muse takes over, it really takes over.
Now I must go and cut the grass.

Happy days are here again...
Yay. One of my favorite Tanya Allan stories is getting a sequel.
Here's a plot idea. One of the cursed men traveled to China to find a possible cure. While there he temporarily crossed over into limbo to get a curse breaker but brought a plague back into our world. On top of everything else you may have planned for Charlie, she also goes to limbo and gets blood samples from people in that area of limbo who recovered from it years ago, then anonymously mails them to labs attempting to create a vaccine. At the end of your story we don't know yet if the labs ignored the blood samples mailed to them. If you go with this plot then it might help if Charlie went into pre-medical. Possibly because with her extra powers she has found various ways to discretely heal people with certain medical problems.
Keeping fingers crossed that this one is still in the pipeline
Love your stories. Charlie's Twist was one of the first transgender themed stories I read and is still one of my favorites.
