Just posted a new chapter of my Regency Romance, His Inconstant Desire. In this episode, Constantine has to deal with his female relatives desire to dress him appropriate to his new role as youngest daughter. Father wants to see her at dinner.

I'm trying to make this as much as possible within the realm of other Regencies. We have a heroine with an unusual past and a unique problem: in this case, she's been raised as a boy. That's not actually too far outside other Regency stories, that often feature tomboyish heroines with unusual backgrounds.

BTW, for those who don't know, Regency Romances are based on the Jane Austen/Georgette Heyer model: they are set in the early 1800s, usually in England, with a center on the upper class life, often in London.

To be a Regency there has to be a wedding and a happy ending, though it may be a touch bittersweet. There should be a touch of scandal and some authority figure who is thwarted. Women's issues should come up but not necessarily dominate. Heroines are supposed to be capable of taking care of themselves, though they may need a man to help with certain sorts of problems. :)

It's all great fun, until someone gets shot, stabbed, exiled to Botany Bay or kidnapped by corsairs and then the fun really begins!

I hope everyone can enjoy my transgender take on this established genre. :)

Hugs,
Erin
