This is just a note to let everyone know that there will again be no Twice Removed this week. I've been trying to get the new chapter done, writing and rewriting several times but it just doesn't feel right and since the story will be coming to a climax soonish I don't want to rush it by putting out something I'm not happy with. My muse has been going crazy on MSPD and I Wish lately but she's kind of being a bitch where Twice Removed is concerned.

Also I just got word this morning that a good friend died due to complications from Cancer. Gaeton and his fiancee Celine were in our Thursday dance classes and were two of the of the few really good friends I made, outside of Martin's family, since coming to Montreal. So my mind may not be into trying to finsh this chapter up since I'm fighting off anxiety attacks about whether I should be at the funeral on Saturday or not. I want to go with Martin to be there for Celine and pay my respects to Gaeton, but there are going to be a lot of people I don't know there and that's almost certain to set off my anxiety big time.

Anyway, since I'm not putting out a chapter of Twice Removed this week and I'm several chapters ahead on MSPD, I'm going to post a chapter of that today as well as the regular chapter on Saturday.

Take the time to take care of the problems including your loss of a friend and take care of yourself.

Have a good day and enjoy life.

Thanks mountaindrake

I'll try to, but I'm a bit floored by this since it looked like he was improving and then this morning I heard that he's gone.

Thanks Dot. I'm fairly anxious about it, and having anxiety attacks about the possibility of having anxiety attacks when there, but I'm looking to see what I could wear to a funeral. I have black clothes, but I don't think the Goth look would be appropriate and I don't think I have any nice looking somber black dresses that I can wear.

Goth look at funeral...

I think a base of goth clothing could be acceptable for some funeral, but it depend on a few things...
- Does Celine and Gaston, know about that part of your style, and do they accept it.
- What style of gothic cloths you have. (last I look, there was like twenty different goth style floating around)
- What sort of accessory you have or have access to to render the look more subtle.

With a goth touch, some of the more 'normal' part of the mourners might not be inclined to talk to much to you, so helping you.

But the most important thing, I think would be to ask Celine, if she think it would be appropriate in her eyes.

Goth clothes

-Celine and Gaeton knew and have seen me all Gothed-up on numerous occasions, but I don't want to make things about me, since I'll be there for her and to pay my respects to him.
-I have a mixed bag of a few different Goth styles, mostly romantic and punk, but the corsets and dresses may be a bit too sexy.
I managed to figure something out finally. A black and silver top that has a bit of a plunging neckline but isn't as over the top sexy as my Goth stuff with a black knee-length crushed velvet skirt and black leggings underneath with black boots and a black wool shawl. I'm still debating whether to go with black eyeliner and black lipstick, but I probably won't. I'd like to keep it toned down out of respect. I probably won't even wear my collar.

Don't worry about 'dark'

Don't worry about 'dark' clothing. Don't wear extremely bright colours, and you'll be fine. If you're concerned about anxiety about all the strange people, sit in one of the back corners. People hate being there. You'll show your respect, and won't have to worry about being crowded.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Thanks for the advice

Potentially awkward social situations freak me out, and it always stokes my anxiety while I worry about doing something horribly wrong or offensive by accident. Given that I'm not completely fluent in French and it's probably going to be mostly Francophones it's going to be very nerve-wracking since the chances of unintentionally offending someone or saying something stupid skyrocket.

Ah. That's an easy fix. I

Ah. That's an easy fix. I haven't been to that many funerals - but the easiest way to not say something stupid is just to say a few banal phrases, and that's _it_. You may not need to say anything at all to anyone but your friends. In fact, I've never understood why people feel the need to speak to anyone _else_ at a funeral. (My mother's family always did wakes, which are VERY different, and involve lots of people talking about the deceased. Usually with alcohol, and often whatever idiotic stories they could come up with about the person. "He could be a horrible person. I once saw him try to kick a cat off of a roof. Unfortunately, his balance never was very good - he fell off instead." )

Behind

When you get as far behind as I am with Higher and Higher, I'll let you know. It'll take a few years, though.
