I fear for anyone that isn't a rich, white male. We need to get him out of office. If he gets elected to a second term, I think the country will have a hard time surviving it.

But on laws I tend to stand in the middle...and see this as a "We have a bunch of cases piling up on this...what is the ruling on this coach(SCOTUS) before we have thousands of them in the pipe??" its best to get this over now...rather than later, when SCOTUS may not have any mix in it...be it left leaning or right leaning.

Atittudes lately towards Transgender
It might be that they need to determine one way or another if the law protects gender Identity and gender orientation, but lately Trump has shown a disdain for transgenders. He proved that with the ones serving in the military and lately the attacks on women making decisions for themselves. There was another article where if you have christian beliefs and you are an owner of a business. That all women should wear skirts or dress, not pants at work. That might hurt the fashion industries some, but I thought as a country we have grown above that type of medieval thinking.

but IMHO is really based on Puritan thinking. Here, the man is the master of all he surveys. Women are inferior and must walk behind him at all times. etc etc. Anyone who does not conform is either exiled or like the supposed witches of Salem, burnt at the stake. Everything is black and white, good or bad. There is nothing in between. That is the behaviour that I see "therealdonald" showing almost every day. (Not a follower I hasten to add)

This 'black and white' view of the world is what got him elected and may well do so again (shudder). If that happens, I fear not only for the LGBT+ community but for all Minorities in the USA(Asians, Hispanics, African Americans and the rest) and indeed for the world at large.
I hope to god that I'm wrong with what I've said above.

He already got one of his like-minded people onto the court. I'm sure this wouldn't be going before them if he felt he couldn't win.
Agree completely SCOTUS wants to handle this
It's a real strong feeling SCOTUS will not start down this slippery slope because it won't end there if they do. I can guarantee lawsuits will be filed to gut Title 7 completely if Trump's Justice Dept succeeds. The other half of the story is all the bills stacked up like boxcars with even greater allowances given to the LGBT community. And most are hidden in among other appropriations necessary for the function of gov.
Trump is going to be very busy doing line item veto or pretty well shutting down gov if these bills get passed in the house and senate.

Indeed not the Supreme Court ruled presidential line item veto unconstitutional. I remember reading something about that this is what google came up with,

Trump is very pro Trump
He needs the support of the religious right much more than he does that of the lgbt community and that is what always rules with him. He cannot act on his principles because he appears to have none; only expediencies.

However anyone chooses to support any candidate on any other issue, for any member of the greater community of folks who identify with any and all aspects of LGBTQ to vote for the President reminds me of Animal Farm. Boxer the Horse demonstrates a complacency that increasingly overlooks the unreasonable demands by Napoleon with the mantra, "I WILL WORK HARDER," only to have his trust betrayed by being taken away in the lorry to the glue factory at end of the book.

Of the opening scene in The Magnificent Seven (the original movie) where Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen volunteer to drive a hearse which nobody else will drive because it carries the body of a half-breed that the local community will not permit to be buried in the town's Boot Hill because it will defile the purity of the cemetery which is reserved for whites.

Of the summer I spent cleaning out a calf barn. It was four foot deep in calf manure and straw. The door was too small to get a tractor and loader in -- and this was prior to Bobcats. I hauled at least one hundred manure spreaders full of the foul stuff out to the field to spread.
After a while everything reeked. My clothes, my boots, the air around me. . .me. It got so bad that my food all started to taste like . . ..
The problem is, only a small percentage of cases get to the Supreme Court. The Federal courts have been packed by Mitch & Co. We're in for interesting times.
