“Jason, I can’t help that the airline lost your luggage, but because you and your sister had this silly bet to dress alike for the flight down, you are going to have to stay dressed as Elizabeth until your bags show up or we get home, which ever comes first.”
“But why can’t I wear Sarah’s jeans?”
“I would imagine that Sarah would be wearing her jeans, and making you wear the skirts...”

A decent first.
This story obviously predates the obnoxious airline security measures that require passengers to show ID. Even minor children have to have boarding passes with their names on them these days.
Maybe if Jason had a more androgynous name it would work, or if they had a really long last name so the first names were truncated, and she said "Jas" was short for Jasmine or something.
And Mom not letting Jason wear Sarah's jeans seems unnecessarily cruel. I think it would work better if the only pants she'd packed were girlier than any skirt, like hot pink stretch capris or lavender cargo shorts or sweats that say "Princess" across the back.
