An author shout-out for Bailey Summers. If you've not stopped by Bailey's page for a visit I highly suggest doing so and showing some love.

Bailey has proven time and again to be a brilliant writer. Inventive and full of heart, with stories ranging from the fantastical to real-world, I've found myself getting the feels in such a good way. They've contributed many excellent works over the years and each is well worth immersing oneself.

That said, there are a few works I'd highly recommend:

"Sixteen Feet of Steel" is simply put, awesome. This series is inspired and had captured my imagination from the start. While the scope is reminiscent of Tolkien, Jordan, or Feist, the writing itself is unique. Though the story is very much about some kick-butt characters, Bailey's world building skills are very much in evidence with well placed exposition. A must read for any fan of fantasy, or anyone really, imho.

"Sweet Dreams, I'll Never Have Them" is a series with some dark and cynical elements, yet speaks of redemption and maybe coming through the storm. No spoilers but pay attention to the tags. I love it but it hits hard in some places.

"The Parchment" is a really sweet and slightly angsty journey of self-discovery and young love.

Anyways, just a couple great titles amidst many more Bailey has to offer.

Love to Bailey

I've scrupulously NOT put pressure on Bailey. RL is like a total load right now, so I just offer support. I love 16!

Much Love 2 Bailey

Yup yup, and I hope this comes across as appreciation rather than pressure. Still, I've always thought it would be awesome to see a 300 kudo average on their chapters lol Pressuring/encouraging the readers maybe? =P

Sixteen feet of steel

I love that also currently reading it again I’m not sure how many times I have read it so far.

hugs :)

IKR?!?

Definitely one of my favs. If I had paperback of it all the pages would be tattered and dog-eared lol

Yup yup

Much love and huggles for Bailey, and all the other authors of awesomeness ^^

One of my favorites, too

I'd second The Parchment, too. Bailey's definitely one of my favorite authors.

Also: Forgotten Hearts and Stay a Little Bit Longer; when life is getting me down, I reread one of them to remind myself that there is, indeed, love in the world, even for the likes of us. (I've put them on my Kindle, which I keep in my purse. Works better than Lexapro or Xanax.)

I'm saddened that they are being crushed by Real Life, and wish I could reach out and do something for them. Bailey: hugs if you want them.

ETA: Also I Can't Breathe, Images, and Antifreeze. And, and, and....

Difficult to choose

It was really challenging to limit myself to three titles. I chose those three, in part, to highlight Bailey's breadth of writing as each of them are rather different from one another.

Ack. More awesome stuff to read.

At least, this time I have discovered a new-to-me author at a time when my must-read-now list is somewhat shorter. Mind you, my must-read-real-soon-now list just keeps growing and growing. And I like it that way.

BTW, the link to her stories is https://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/book/19926/bailey-summers

Edit: Five days later I've finished reading Sixteen Feet. And now I'm eagerly waiting for the next chapter.

Awesome

Thank you for the link. I never think to add those... I'll edit to add the link in the main body as well.

A new Jem (which I believe is the 2nd longest running serial on the site), FTL or 16 ft of Steel, it always makes my day better. Bailey is awesome!

~And so it goes...
