So here I am, ten days after my world was turned inside out.

I'm still getting infuriated by my leg, still getting weepy for no apparent reason, still.......Yes, things are getting better, tomorrow should sort out most of the financial stuff and then its just getting through Thursday. I'm expecting to be a mess on Thursday in front of the relatives but sod 'em, we need to move on and if that means a good blub so be it.

Anyhow, I've made a tentative start at some writing and todays chapter can be found here.

Normal is what happens

to you at this stressful time.

Their are no guidelines for your feelings at this time. Their are no timelines to guide your feelings change from this to that.

Time is not a healer it just allows the grieve to be less painful.

The weepy times ate the bodies way of releasing tension and stress.

In our prayers of support and comfort.

I have been there. I can offer empathy, sympathy and virtual support. It gets better.

What in truth is "normal"???????

Normal is a misnomer - a fiction created by those who would have you believe that those who aren't like them are wrong, or "abnormal".

Like most so-called "facts", it is simply something that can be demonstrated by statistics. But as an engineer, and as someone who deals with numbers every day, I know that I can literally prove anything by the proper application of statistics. In other words, "normal" means absolutely NOTHING.

Normal........ is simply what fits the moment for each of us as individuals. Each of us reacts differently to life, and how we react is what is normal for us.

there is no such ting as normal. Normal is a lie and lies come in three forms lies, damn lies, and statistics. Statistics are the worst ones people need to realize that every one is different and enjoy those differences. Have a good day and enjoy life.

Have a good day and enjoy life.

Let the tears flow.

And damn those who'd say you should be strong... keep a stiff upper lip and all that rot. Grief doesn't come with a set of rules, or a one-size-fits-all formula. Do what's right for you. Those who understand will comfort you... those who don't have never had to suffer the kind of loss you're dealing with or they're too uptight to let their own feelings show.

As to what's normal??? The word normal describes the norm. The norm is just an average. No one really fits "normal." Besides, who wants to be average anyway? Not me.
