My problem, not anything earthshaking, is that I can't get the msn video mentioned in "Here is a great show of support". I have a Mac G3 and an iMac G3 on an inside the house system (maybe it's ethernet) fed by a high speed cable, modem, etc. My partner, Kim, built and maintains it. My two Macs run OS 10.3.9. I usually run Safari, but to coordinate ms stuff I also browsed with explorer 5.2 which will run on OS 10.3.9. I just downloaded from ms, flip4mac and windows media player, but I'm not sure those two programs are really installed and work properly. When I go to the video link, I get a msn page that just spins 'loading player' and 'loading video' and nothing happens. When I use quick time player, Mac software, I think, and try to load the URL, quick time says it's not a valid web address. So, I don't know what to do. I'd ask Kim, but she's doing badly psychologically and just sleeps all the time.

Ask me again in a day or so, I'll try to ask my brother. He probably knows someone who knows since he's a director at Apple in the web development section. If I haven't posted an answer by Monday, remind me. Don's working through the weekend on some new products so I can't ask him right now.

I took a look myself
The website says that on a Mac you need OS 10.4 and Firefox to run the video. OS 10.4 will not load on a G3. I think it may run on a G5 Mac but only with some hacking. Sorry. Apparently MSN is not interested in making their videos available to people who own older Macs. My brother had no ideas about how to deal with this but will ask around.

It can be downloaded as a .flv file (Flash format I believe).
Real Player will Download & Play Flash
All I know about is the Windows version. There is a Real Player version for Macs (that claims the same video download and play capability). The Real plugin works with Firefox 2 but not the new Firefox 3 yet. I think Real also works with IE 6 & 7. It does a good job downloading and playing the .flv files from YouTube.
