To the man in the JC Penney bathroom today-

My husband and I took our boys to have their holiday photos done this morning. My eldest son, who is six years old and gender fluid, decided he wanted to wear a red velvet dress, sparkly shoes, and a glittery bow for his picture this year. Before their photo session started, my husband took him to use the restroom. That is where they met you. You talked to my son. You were so kind. You told him that you loved his pretty dress. He came back to me beaming with confidence and pride. He exclaimed "mommy, I just met a REAL cowboy! And he was so nice!" Thank you for making my son's day!
Sincerely, his very grateful Mommy.

My son has been publicly gender fluid for over a year now and I am so happy to report that we have had far more positive experiences than negative ones. I feel so fortunate to raise him in a city we feel safe in.

Thank you Spokanites for being so Spokanice!
Happy Holidays!

Country people

Some people out in the country go there to get away from the narrow minded. I've been all over Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California, Ohio and New York, oh and Alaska. Good folk are where you find them.

Having spent time in small

Having spent time in small towns (or unincorporated areas), they can be JUST as narrow minded, and a whole lot more nosy :)

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
