I remember very fondly my first days as a member of BC. I was the new girl on the block and just getting to know everyone. Mellissa took the time to welcome me by private message. As time went on, I began to see the great depth of courage and determination of this wonderful woman. Many of you are well aware of her trials and tribulations as told in" Tragedy Of The Spirit" so I really don't need to go into that here. We swapped many emails and phone conversations and encouraged each other as we dealt with our own personal struggles. We had much in common with each other as both of us dealt with and I continue to deal with lifetime disabilities. Many of us that knew her, learned that she was a fierce advocate for the disabled in Canada. We both shared a faith in God and would talk about how it served us each day. We talked quite often about collaborating on stories together. The last email that she sent me back on May 25th, asked how I was doing and wished me well. She said that we were going to get together and talk about ideas after she got home from the hospital. I am saddened to know that that will never be, but comforted in the knowledge that she is free from the ravages of MS and the scars from the abuse she suffered. She was a huge fan of many of you on here. She and I compared many of our favorite stories. She really liked "Being Christina Chase" and "Camp Kumoni" among many others. My grandmother used to tell me that when someone dies, God just wanted another pretty flower for his bouquet. I know that he got a beautiful one in Mellissa Dawn Northe. I love you girl and I will see you again someday.

Love Ya!

Jenn
